* Anticonvulsant for neuropathic pain management (Kanonpharma).

1. Composition

Active substance: Gabapentin 300mg. Excipients: lactose monohydrate, maize starch, talc, gelatin, titanium dioxide.

2. Indications

Peripheral neuropathic pain (postherpetic neuralgia, diabetic neuropathy); adjunctive therapy for focal seizures with or without secondary generalization.

3. Dosage and Administration

Oral use with water, with or without food. Titration schedule: Day 1: 300mg once daily; Day 2: 300mg twice daily; Day 3: 300mg 3 times daily. Usual maintenance dose is 900-1800mg/day divided in 3 doses.

4. Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to gabapentin, acute pancreatitis, children under 12 years (epilepsy) or under 18 years (neuropathic pain).

5. Side Effects

Somnolence, dizziness, ataxia, fatigue, peripheral edema.

6. Storage Conditions

Store below 25°C in original blister packs. Keep out of reach of children.
