* Inotropic cardiac glycoside (Arpimed).

1. Composition

Active substance: Digoxin 0.25mg. Excipients: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, maize starch.

2. Indications

Chronic heart failure, atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter with rapid ventricular response.

3. Dosage and Administration

Oral administration with water. Strictly individualized by a physician. Typical maintenance dose is 0.125mg to 0.25mg once daily.

4. Contraindications

Digitalis toxicity, second- or third-degree AV block without pacemaker, Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, ventricular tachycardia, obstructive cardiomyopathy.

5. Side Effects

Cardiac arrhythmias, bradycardia, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, blurred vision with yellow-green halo (xanthopsia).
